We care about engineering craft, clean design and thoughtful problem-solving. Opencast consultants deliver in complex environments, pairing often and working with others who take pride in doing things properly: TDD, emerging design, refactoring and leaving code better than they found it. Team Lead Software Engineer

🏢 Xe.comhttps://static.whatjobs.com/static/ajCore/img/jobPosting/companyLogo/whatJobs_ob_default.png

Description About Xe Xe is a cross-border payments platform. We help SMEs and consumers in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand collect, convert, hold, and send money across markets. Each year, over 300 million people use Xe for currency information and over 350,000 use us to send money overseas. Today, we’re rebuilding the platform layer behind cross-border payments for corporate and consumer clients. We’re small enough that your code ships fast and your decisions matter, and Euronet Worldwide (Nasdaq: EEFT) backs us so the problems stay real-scale. About This Role We're hiring a Team Lead who owns how a squad builds and ships, from architecture and API design through to delivery, reliability, and the growth and performance of the engineers on the team. You already use AI as part of how you think, build, test, and ship, and shape how the team does the same. You’ll write code that moves money in production, own the squad's architecture and engineering delivery, lead the growth of its engineers, and serve as the squad's technical co-lead with the Product Manager. Your squad owns a slice of the platform that moves money for Xe's customers, along with the services and partner integrations behind it. You align with adjacent squads when work crosses boundaries. What You'll Do Lead the engineering team building and running your squad's slice of the platform, across the services, APIs, and partner integrations that move money for Xe's customers. Set technical direction and lead the squad's hands-on engineering work: architecture, API design, code for the hard parts, design reviews, code review standards, and leading the squad's response to production incidents. Own engineering delivery for the squad, iterating with the PM on roadmap, sprint plans, timelines, and what ships when. Lead and support the engineers as people, not just technically: pairing, mentoring, regular 1:1s, feedback, and helping them grow and perform, including contributing to interview loops. Shape how the team adopts AI tools: set the example for using agentic coding tools daily across the SDLC and raise the bar for how the squad ships with them. What We’re Looking For Must-have 6 to 10+ years building production software systems, end-to-end. Track record of technical leadership in a software team: setting architecture, leading design reviews, mentoring engineers, and being accountable for a squad's technical decisions. Experience leading, developing, and supporting engineers beyond the technical, including coaching, regular 1:1s, feedback, and helping people grow and perform, as a meaningful part of the role alongside hands-on technical leadership. Strong backend proficiency in C# / .NET preferred; other OOP languages welcome (Java, Kotlin, Go, or equivalent). Working frontend fluency with Vue.js, React, or equivalent. Strong system design experience, including distributed systems and service-oriented or microservices architecture. Payments, FX, or regulated-industry experience. SQL and relational database fundamentals. Production experience with AWS, including native services such as SQS, DynamoDB, S3, ECS, and Lambda, and ownership of CI/CD pipelines including release gating (GitHub Actions or equivalent). Daily use of agentic coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or equivalent) across the SDLC, with a clear point of view on how a team should adopt AI. Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to translate technical decisions for product and business audiences. Nice-to-have Track record leading engineering teams shipping payments, fintech, or money-movement products at scale. Formal line-management or performance-management experience. Track record of hiring, interviewing, or onboarding engineers. Experience modernizing platforms, decoupling from legacy services, or leading large refactors. Experience leading engineering teams through significant change (scaling, modernization, or restructuring). Perks & Benefits Competitive Salary & Discretionary Bonus 23 days annual leave increasing with service (capped at 28 days) Paid day off for your Birthday 4% employer pension contribution Discounted Euronet ESPP Life Cover, Income Protection & Critical Illness cover Healthcare Plumm Mental Health and Wellbeing Volunteering day for a charity of your choice We want Xe to be a great place to work and to ensure that our communities are represented across our workforce. A vital part of this is ensuring we are a truly inclusive organization that encourages diversity in all respects. Xe is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will be considered for employment regardless of age, national origin, race, color, disability, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected under applicable law. We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities. If you need assistance or an accommodation due to a disability, you may contact us at The position responsibilities outlined above are intended to define the general contents and requirements to perform this job. It is not to be taken as a complete statement of responsibilities or requirements. This job description does not restrict the Company's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job as needed. #J-18808-Ljbffr

Our vision is to become the global reference for the optimisation of the performance of Software Engineers. Our technology is used by some of the world’s largest organisations, including nine of the world’s top twelve Universal Banks. This successful product uptake has led to rapid expansion of our company. We are a global organisation with headquarters in London and additional offices in India, Mexico and the US. We are made up of 110+ individuals from more than 20 different countries. Location: London Department: Product Job Description This role owns one of the most business-critical products in our portfolio — one that plays a direct role in our growth, retention, and competitive position. We're hiring a Lead Product Manager to own its strategy and roadmap, working directly with executive leadership, enterprise customers, and cross-functional teams across engineering, design, and revenue. This is a senior, high-autonomy role reporting to the VP of Product; you will set direction with limited oversight and be accountable for outcomes. How Success Is Measured Outcomes for this role include Net Revenue Retention (NRR), Monthly Active Users (MAUs), and feature adoption and stickiness — alongside strengthening our competitive moat and positioning, positively influencing net-new logo growth. What You'll DoStrategy & Roadmap Own the strategic roadmap for the product. Make the roadmap accountable to the metrics above — track them closely enough to catch early when something isn't working, and reprioritize accordingly. Technical & Design Leadership Hold a strong, well-reasoned point of view on front-end design and UX quality. Partner with ML engineering on model behaviour and evaluation, and with backend engineering on system and data architecture, at a level of depth that shapes technical decisions. Present roadmap and strategy directly to executive and C-suite stakeholders, and defend it under scrutiny. Engage directly with enterprise customers and prospects, including in active sales cycles, as a credible product voice. Partner with Sales, Product Marketing, and Customer Success on positioning, deal support, and renewals as an ongoing responsibility, not a launch handoff. Bring a current point of view on engineering productivity and performance measurement in the agentic-AI era into product strategy and roadmap decisions. Team Growth Mentor product managers working in and around the product, with the opportunity to take on formal people leadership as the team scales. Prior experience mentoring or managing product managers directly is a plus, though not required. Product Craft & Rigor Set the standard for product craft — problem framing, PRDs, roadmap collaboration and post-launch measurement. Bring strong rigor, discipline, and process to the cross-functional team, not just to your own output. Use agentic AI tools as part of your own product management workflow — research synthesis, spec drafting, roadmap analysis — and help the wider team adopt them well. Qualifications What We're Looking For An understanding of what it takes to sell B2B SaaS and AI products into large, regulated, or enterprise organizations. Having at least 8years of experience in technical B2B SaaS Product Management A well-informed point of view on developer and agentic productivity and performance — you've used agentic tools as part of your own workflow, and have an opinion on where this is heading. Have led products within the AI SDLC, Software Engineering Intelligence, DevOps, Developer Tools, Data Analytics and/or Agentic AI. Comfort operating in fast-moving, ambiguous, and multi-product environments. A strong, data-driven product leader who knows when to lean on data and when to lean on judgment. You can understand and shape the product experience, and hold your own in a technical conversation with both engineers and executives. Additional Information Why join our team?Culture and Growth: Global team with a creative, innovative and welcoming mindset. Rapid career growth and opportunity to be an outstanding and visible contributor to the company's success. Freedom to create your own success story in a high performance environment.
